As a Nokia Systems Engineer, you will help create transformational technologies and products that automatically detect, characterize and locate interference sources in Nokia cellular operator networks. Responsibilities shall include use case studies, algorithm design, product feature design and field testing of new product features in live operator networks.
Perform system analysis and design of interference detection for Nokia cellular networks, characterization and location features for UMTS, LTE, and LTE-Advanced networks, with an emphasis on intellectual property creation.
Define system requirements for Spectrum Effect’s flagship interference detection product, Spectrum-NET.
Work with other systems engineering team members on the creation of algorithms for automatic interference detection, characterization, and location through analysis of Nokia RAN performance counters and other network data.
Work with software development teams and actively contribute to the implementation of Spectrum-NET features.
Characterize behavior and performance of interference detection features in lab and live network environments.
Analyze large data sets to identify opportunities for further improvement of interference detection capabilities.
Write technical documents and papers specifying technical requirements, solutions, and product goals.
Experience in dealing with external interference sources, troubleshooting and optimization of Nokia based UMTS and LTE networks.
UMTS and LTE RF network optimization and troubleshooting processes knowledge and experience with Nokia RAN Products.
Experience with radio propagation planning and optimization of coverage footprint and services.
Understanding of Machine Learning and its applications.
Working knowledge of 3GPP standards.
Excellent written and communications skills in English.
Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Matlab, Java, C.
Eligible to work in Mexico and travel internationally (<10%). This job is for Monterrey, Mexico.
